Foundation Grants Strategy
The Foundation will achieve its objectives by building an investment base managed by the Trustees. Income generated from this base may be made available to one or more of the above areas at the sole discretion of the Trustees.
It is important that the capital base of the Foundation is not eroded by disbursement of grants. To a large extent this must be countered by obtaining new members and benefactors. In principle grants should only be made from net income of the Foundation.
In principle the capital base of the Foundation should increase by at least the CPI index each year. To maintain a “real” capital base (adjusted for inflation), it may be necessary to reduce grant allocations from net income in some years although some flexibility should be granted to the Trustees.
Grants Process
Each year the Health Foundation will place an advertisement on this website, on the Apollo Bay Community Website and in the local Apollo Bay News calling for applications for grants for projects which fall within the scope of the Foundation’s areas of interest.
Grants must be submitted on the Health Foundation Grant Application form by the advertised due date.
